Etifeddu

The title "Etifeddu" means to inherit in Welsh. Both the table and the painting were possessions inherited from family members after they had died. Whilst 13 years passed between one gift and another, the same sense of grief and connection was evident. A copy of the painting is on the table top as a recognition of the same sense of loss we feel when someone dies, while the painted legs show the fragmentary and chaotic manifestation of grief.

The original painter is unknown, despite the signature, I've no way of finding out who painted it, and It's more mysterious now that I am unable to ask the original owner about it's origin.
